What we do

Black Frog Farm is a private farm and animal rescue with no open hours to the public.

We believe that with animal ownership comes responsibility to properly care for those animals. Black Frog Farm promotes good animal stewardship in care, breeding and animal rescue.

We have chosen to selectively sell products from our farm. All proceeds from our sales go right back into the care of the farm.
We provide foster care for animals through several rescues when the need arises. We also take in several species of rescue animals ourselves. We either provide a permanent home, or find the best possible home for that animal. We are not a 501c3 rescue; we do this work with our own resources, and with donations from generous supporters of our work.

We give all of our animals the best possible food and care. Our animal’s wellbeing always comes first.

We promote humane egg production and provide free ranging opportunities for our varieties of birds. We have healthy, happy birds and tastier eggs.

We are promoting the llama industry through introducing llamas to people in our area. We educate on llama care and ownership, including mentoring new owners. We believe in ethical breeding for the best conformation, disposition, and fiber possible, while also ensuring lifelong care for the animals on our farm. We also have taken in many llamas through rescue or rehoming efforts from others.

We offer to serve our local community by promoting rest, time outdoors, and good mental health by offering the public opportunities to work with our animals.

Black Frog Farm is a proud member of The Livestock Conservancy. The Livestock Conservancy is a nonprofit membership organization whose mission is to protect endangered livestock and poultry breeds from extinction. Many of the poultry breeds on our farm are listed as in danger of extinction. By adding these breeds to our farm, we are helping to expand the genetics and numbers of endangered birds in the United States. (livestockconservancy.org)
